MPC5000 reviews, bug reports and fellow user support on the most recent standalone, hardware MPC from Akai

Okay, I'm hardware only. Just went from a 2500 to a 5000 and the 5000 is ver 2.0. I don't have any issues yet with sampling or making programs or using old programs. My issue is simpler than that....
Here we go
When I start a seq from the 1st bar only it resets all my sound module volumes up to 127 and the pans back to 00. Grrr because I have one 1/4" stereo jack in all the left main outputs and pan every module to the left for the stereo sound and its wrecking my workflow. I've messed with the track lock and mmc's and anything I could change just to get it to stop doesn't work

been thru that. the answer is in the mixer of the MPC 5000. you have to adjust the levels in the mixer for the tracks that you have sequenced your synths on

I thought it was my slim phatty (http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=144441&hilit=moog) but it does it with all my synths (although i said it didnt at the time as i acquired new synths it happened). Its as simple as adjusting the volume in the mixer. I think that came direct from Akai Pro Support after all i went thru sending my slim phatty to moog and updating it all it was is a mixer issue. it sends the volume at max.

my post from the moog forum

Well after sending the moog back to factory for repair and issue persisting i found the answer was right in front of me... boy what a goof

The Mixer of the MPC5000 is controlling volume levels of external MIDI devices. Navigate to Mode > Mixer (Pad 7). The levels you alter here will transmit to your external device.

Done and done it works perfectly (although this is not a factor with my other synths it does affect SP so maybe others can benefit from my troubles).

Thanks Perry (Moog) & Sean (Akai Numark)
