Another one with the greatest machine on earth- Drives.

So I've had the MPC5000 since 2010, but I've only recently (beginning of this year) been dedicated to it.
Until this month the only issue I've noticed with it has been a sudden freeze (2-3 times overall)

I've been using the cd drive frequently, and it often shuts itself off,/"detaches" itself. And once it's detached, I have to turn the system off, for the machine to notice it again. I'm thinking it just sits lose, and I'll be able to attach it properly (I haven't tried to do it yet).
More worrying, is that the hard drive is behaving in the same manner. Is this an external or internal problem?

I have the os 2.0

I'm looking at the Reneissance, and will probably make the transition in the near future, but I still want to press the last juice out of this thing.. Thx

**** Akai. The 5000 could have been really great if they finished it. Akai can suck my ass cause I will NEVER buy a new piece of gear from them.
Roger Linn needs to hurry up with the linn drum so I can buy one.
