As the title says. a friend of mine asked me to service his 5000 because of dying tact switches, as i have some omrons for my 3000 in the mail within the next days i wonder if these will work. as far as my understanding is they should be two-legged ones. can anybody confirm this?

thanks, as always,
WASK

As far as I remember, the MPC 3000 uses the 2 legged tact switches.

Not that I want to assume anything but it should be fairly certain based on the MPC 2000, 2000XL, 1000, 2500 that the 5000 would be using 4 legged tact switches, in which case you'd either chose to use the ALPS SKHHAMA or ALA (the difference between the two I believe is the actual actuator force, I prefer the SKHHAMA) or use the OMRON B3F-1022 which is the ALPS counterpart.

thanks for the reply. indeed, the 5000 uses two-legged switches, thats why im asking.

on the other side i prefer the AKA models from alps for all other mpcs with 100gf operating pressure. so they fit in all mpcs besides the 3000 and the 5000.

does anyone know the exact type for the 5000? maybe theres the possibility that the ones for the 3000 fit. i havent got the unit here at home, the friend will bring it over here if i have the correct ones here because he lives far away from my home.

if anyone knows, holla at me ;)

According to the service manual, the MPC 5000 uses a total of 54 of the following: http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/ALPS/SKRGAED010/

But the stock 3000 switches which are just like the B3F-6022, http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/ALPS/SKHVBED010 do in fact look like they will 'fit' as they're only 2 pins but I just wonder if they''ll be the right height for the job.

according to the information you posted the "3000" ones shouldnt fit because they are 5mm high and the one u mentioned for the 5000 are 3.6mm high.
now i know i have to order some of the other switches, thanks for the infos @all!
