I'm new here, but I've been using MPC's since '88. 60 for 17 years, then 2000xl. I just bought a 5000. Please enlighten me dudes. In Step Edit mode on this machine, when I click through the steps, the displayed notes do not sound. I have to press the 'play' soft key to hear the note. This seems to be true for drum and midi programs. Is this for real? If it is I cannot believe it, as being able to hear the note as you step through the sequence is....well....what step edit is for, right? Then you alter the parameters etc. I fully accept that I may be being reaaaaallly dumb, that's why I have posted this. I love the loading/program/screen/960ppqn/etc etc, but wow, this seems like a massive oversight compared to the 60/2kxl.
