Play Mpc5000 synth with midi keyboard

Hi i searched the forum and youtube cant find nothing


Is there a way to play the synth on my mpc5000 with my mpk49 midi keyboard instead of using the pad on the mpc5000?

I tried the manual but it seems like it's for keyborard with sound and i cant get it to work or maybe I do something wrong

Been a while, but I believe you just connect the MIDI out of the keyboard to the MIDI in of the MPC5000 using a standard 5pin MIDI cable. At this point it should just work, I don't believe you need any further configuration in the MPC. In the MPK you might need to configure global settings so the MIDI output goes through the MIDI out port (and not just via USB).

After connecting to midi cable for some reason I have to wait 30 to 45 seconde for the sound to play ...hope that could help someone who have to same issues
