Hello girls & boys,

Lets make a user request thread !

Please only contribute if you are an MPC 5000 owner !!!

Ok i start :

1 : More programs ( 300 sound good to me )

2 : Ability to zoom in/out when choping & ajust start/end points of individual slices, ability to REMOVE the UNWANTED slices

3 : Synth programs preview, synth automations !!!

4 : In Program mode, edit the filter, LFO, envelope with qlinks

5 : Add effects to tracks & the ability to select the OUTPUTS on tracks

6 : More ARP features ( repeat, sequence ..)

7 : Grid edit mode, edit menu, ADD A NOTE ( add a note to the selected position, even with record off )

8 : New synth features ( wavetables, FM, modulations etc...)

9 : Real Time time streching & pitch shifting.

10 : Q link midi CC mode to allow external midi editing from the MPC

11 : Autochromatic assignment when loading a sample folder & ability to choose the program you want to assign the sample when you load it..

12 : Individual tracks lenght !!!!!! MY MOST WANTED FEATURE !!!!

13 : A switch (per track) that enters a copy/delete function (per track)
Set to ON: if you extend a track from 2 to 5 bars: the mpc will copy bar 1 and 2 to bar 3 and 4 and will copy bar 1 again to bar 5. If you decrease the tracklength, the removed bars will be emptied. from all data.
Set to OFF: MPC behaves as it is now.

14 : A button to recall qlinks parameters to their original position without hearing sound ( ex : shift + qlink controler to recall ) or some sort of recall function like the microkorg.

15 : Software editor

16 : Ability to use the HD tracks out of the song mode

17 : Four Q-link banks which will give you access to 16 sliders and 32 knobs w/ control over all MPC parameters

18 : CLEAR ENTIRE MEMORY button

19 : Global program edit mode

20 : Keygroups

21 : AKAI CD ROM compatibility S1000 S3000 etc.. !!!!!

Also from JB - when manually assigning samples to programs, have the option for the sample list to 'auto increment' to the next unassigned sample, rather than having to scroll through the entire sample list from the beginning each time.

Save screen to remember what 'SAVE' option was last used. For example, if I save 'ENTIRE MEMORY' then go back and change a few things, when I return ot the SAVE screen, I want it to still be set as 'SAVE ENTIRE MEMORY', not 'SAVE A SAMPLE'.

Instant track mute should be the default IMO...

1. Sample Editing : Non-destructive chopping (JJ OS)- this allows slice regions to have their start/end points overlap each other. Also, it would be great to have a scrolling cursor in the sample trim screen so I can tell what portion of the sample is playing when I press a pad (Fantom G). Having a way to add or delete sample slice points (Roland MV 8800) using a cursor a user can scroll would be a significant enhancement

2. Instrument programs/Key group programs (MPC 4000/ JJOS) Parameters include: Sample Low key & High Key, Original Key, Level, Tune. This is probably one of the most sought after features MPC 4000 users want as well as MPC 2500/1000 users.

3. Global program editing (filters, LFOs, etc) of programs (JJ OS). I would like to have an option where I can apply the same settings to all the pads within a program.

4. Assign multiple programs to a multi-program (MPC 4000)

5. Up to two MIDI output channels per track (MPC 3000)

6. Real time pitch shift w/o impacting tempo – recorded samples or during recording

7. Stream samples from hard drive or CF card (wouldn’t need more memory)

8. Add 4-band parametric EQ as a filter type as well as the Master EQ

9. At least 2 LFOs and 2 filters per sample or program

10. Mount/Un-mount USB connection to PC w/o removing cable

11. Independent loop settings for each track

12. Real-time time stretching of continuous sample tracks (make them sync to master sequencer tempo)

13. . Sampling/re-sampling with adjustable sample rates/bit depth (in spite of having the decimator and resampler in the FXs processor)

14. Sample list view - where you can tag (select/deselect or check/uncheck) one or more samples for deletion or loading

15. Loading folders: automatically assign multiple samples in a folder to a program/pads

16. Have a CANCEL option when files are being loaded/saved

17. Independent filters per sample layer

18. X-fade settings between sample layers

19. Add reverse and alternating to the sample play mode

20. Improved data compatibility with all Akai/MPC sample/patch formats as well as Roland, Akai, Emu, and Yamaha formats

21. Load menu: Indicate actual size of folder. Currently, it is left blank

22. Real time Timing Correction/ Quantize. As the sequencer is playing, I would like to have the option of changing quantize settuings of recorded material and here the results in real time

23. Edit the name of external MIDI modules. Currently, external MIDI devices are named Programs No.1 thru No. 128. I would like to be able to edit this and have the name of the Patch I am playing. The MPC 3000 has this feature.

10. Mount/Un-mount USB connection to PC w/o removing cable

We don t need to remove the cable to unmount.

Make sure you r using the windows task bar to remove the mpc properly.

I co-sign for the others :)

Ho yesssssss, that s very boring !!!!

thats true, but i like to disconnect the mpc without using my pc - implementation of an unmount button that allow to unmount from the mpc site is also on my wishlist.

and what about a better way for the MAC users

id like an auto-assign feature. for instance, if i chop a record or break up, and i create a new program, i should be able to have the option to have the chops auto-assign to consecutive pads, or be able to select a folder, and have a feature where I could have each sample name show up on the screen, and i press what pad i want to assign it to, at which case it goes to the next sample in the folder, etc etc.

i'd DEFINITELY like sample previewing, much like how scrolling through sounds in Audition of Fruity Loops just automatically triggers the sample. You're giving us the ability to load from 2GB compactflash cards and 4GB+ DVD's, but we have to press F5 as we scroll through EACH one?

You can do this.

When you chop, use the convert menu to convert your choped sample as a sliced program

I don't see the use of #1, do you really stand tall when presenting program 252 to the crowd? I'd say some loading and backup with USB or CF card is sufficient. #3 full ACK. #4 full ACK, there's nothing more useful than a versatile mod matrix. #5 is strange, since a track belongs to a sequence while EFX routing belongs to the program. What about resampling (I know, it's a lot of work, but how often do you apply EFX to single tracks)? #7 full ACK. #8 is like #4, always a maximum of mod sources and mod targets. #9 like a pitch shift effect and aren't EFX controllable by Q-Links? #10: What about removing a hard disk track via your computer while playing the song it belongs to? #11 is similar to other suggestions and I fully agree, that scrolling through a huge list of samples to assing them to 4x64 pads and this for all the 64 tracks is..."slavin' fi bread, sir".

What about some multi selection features with Shift+Cursors. Would be great for file handling like it's for grid edit mode...move a bunch of files around or delete more than one at a time.

Auto chromatic assign could need a lower and upper bound. Makes no sense (to me) to assign a 36 tune-step sample to 64 pads. And most of the time I use a range of 1 or 2 octaves per sample.

Saving options could need some more structure. I can save a single sample, a program including it's samples, a sequence...but not a single song with it's sequences and programs...only all songs. To restore my work I have to load programs by hand followed by the song using the programs. Would be a great change, coupling between programs and sequences and songs isn't high so it'd be necessary to hold all parts together by putting them into one directory...causes a pile of files.

Did you look at the Mixer menu? Mine has 4 sections: PrgMix, TrkMix, Setup and Input. In PrgMix I see samples (!!) not tracks. So forget everything I said about EFX per sample...just turn the knobs and you can determine how much of the sample goes to which EFX section - one mixer strip for every sample.

Ability to record syntheshizer automation. Right now it does not work for me.

Ability to record FX automation, not sure the mpc can handle this, but it would be sweet.

Ability to have different FX settings per sequence and recall them as the sequence changes.
