Sub-forum for discussion about the DAWs and mobile apps that you use with your MPCs

Hello everyone,
I have a quick question that I hope I can get a simple answer to. To start with I am fairly new to both Ableton and the MPK25. So please excuse my lack of knowledge. My question is how do I separate the pads and the keyboard? When I load a drum rack to the pads it also plays on the keyboard. And when I load a synth it plays with both the pads and the keyboard. I would like to be able to arm both the synths and the drums, and play only the snyths on the keyboard and the drums on the pads. Is this possible? I have been trying to figure this out and I have searched and read and cannot find an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-Sid

I dont know on that keyboard, but if it is possible... it would involve checking out the manual for the mpk.. and you might need to change the settings for the pads changing the midi channel it sends to... it may not be possible to change the keys and pads to different ones.

I dont see why not though...

now getting that to run in ableton is a different story I am not sure about, however if it were possible it would involve linking your synth and drum rack to the same desired midi channels.

Sorry I cant help, but for sure the manual of the keyboard is what you need to look at first.

I suggest you concentrate on mastering one thing at a time.

The MPK shouldn't take long to sus, so break out the manual then move on to Ableton.

You can't expect to just sit down and make beats...
