From Mac to PC. Pro tools stability vs other DAWs.

Hi.
So I'm back from Mac to PC, because I like gaming. PT9 worked almost perfect on my Mac, but on my Windows PC it's **** hell. Basically it might freeze my whole system on start up, and even if it passes it might freeze later on when I'm working, also my whole system. Well, I could live with only PT being frozen, but in this case it's too much. I'm spending 3rd day to figure this bullshit and I'm no programmer I make beats :S

With all this bad stuff that happens to me lately (computer crash and data loss, now PT problems on Windows) I wonder about many stupid things. I want to make just some beats, but everything is against me and I put a lot of money in it.

I wanted to ask, if PT stability is that bad with Windows or is there something wrong with setup? How is PT stability looking in comparison to other DAWs on Windows platform?

I don't use PT, so I can't offer much, but I do have an HP PC and a Mac Pro which I dual boot on. Performance for all my cross platform VST's and hosts/sequencers (Live, Reaper, Maschine, Reason/Record) all perform identical. My RME Multiface II interface gets about 1ms better round trip latency on Windows with ASIO than OS X with Core Audio, that's the only difference I've seen. CPU loads are identical as well.

I've heard Cubase has been performing better on Windows 7 than the last few OS X versions, but that seemed to be Steinberg struggling with something Snow Leopard specific. I haven't heard anything about PT9 performing differently on the latest versions of either OS, but again I don't use PT myself.

Is this on Windows 7? I'm asking because I haven't had any system freezes for anything since SP1 was released. I have apps freeze/hang and crash, but nothing that brings the whole system down. It's probably a conflict somewhere rather than PT9 being unstable on Windows. What audio interface are you using? The few serious issues (BSOD level) I've had with Windows 7 in the last couple years where usually related to my interface's drivers.

Windows is 7 SP 1 64bit and audio interface is RME Fireface UFX.
From what I've red it should be compatible with both.
I have Mac in my house and I gave it to my brother and bought new Windows based PC. Basically if there is some gear/pc parts conflict this would be completely retarded. Also I'd rather avoid going back to Mac or changing DAW (I'm completely comfortable with anything good, but I don't want to spend any more money on music, because I've spent a lot already and I don't need anything more)
I'm not expecting you to resolve my issue, but I'd like to know opinions, of course if you know something it would be appreciated.
I made no project for 3 weeks + now and it makes me sad...
