Audio Interface trouble in Pro tools!

interning at a venue that likes to record all there performances using a roland octa-capture interface... We recently picked up a second roland octa-capture to do 16 track recordings. But for some reason the second interface seems to be generating this very short distorted/aliased noise burst..

Anyone got any ideas? I thought it was both together being out of sync but troubleshooting - the second interface seems to be doing it on its own.

It sounds like you have a good place to start with the second interface itself. Before exhausting yourself trying to troubleshoot the stacked devices and Pro Tools I would just get the second interface out of the equation period by getting another one, if you can, and seeing if it will exhibit similar problems when used alone also.

I say this because if the one interface isn't having issues with the same config and Pro Tools settings when used alone but the other is, then it's likely the actual second interface.
