Trouble im having is recording my logic instruments that were sequenced with mpc as midi controller. I have several tracks on mpc

i.e.-S:MIDI :1A-Device01 is a drum kit from logic
S:MIDI :2A-Device02 is a bass instrument from logic
S:MIDI :3A-Device03 is a synth from logic

I have made an 8 bar variated loop using these logic instruments, triggered by the mpc as a midi controller for logic

Problem is i hit record on logic and nothing from the mpc records...stumped on this one

How would i record the 8 bar sequence of three individual tracks(logic instruments) i created into logic?

Not sure.

Are the tracks record enabled?

And they playback fine when pressing play on the MPC, sending MIDI into Logic, and playing sounds out of the Logic instruments?

You should be able to press record in Logic, and play on the MPC, and it should record those incoming MIDI notes from the MPC into the Logic sequence as MIDI notes, onto the respective Logic instrument tracks.

Thanks for your speedy reply Simon

Yes tracks are all record enabled
Yes playback is fine on mpc.also logic is picking up volume on each channel for each software instrument controlled by mpc
Midi notes are cycling in the midi notes area of logic, corresponding to each midi note used in the 8 bar loop

Not sure, would have to test it out at home when I get a chance.

When Logic is in record, the Logic playhead/time is moving/running?

It should record the MIDI notes into the software instrument tracks as it receives them from the MPC, as it is already receiving them on each Logic instrument track and playing the Logic sounds, as if it were any other external MIDI controller keyboard.

Another thing to consider, separate to actually recording the MIDI notes into the Logic software instrument tracks, might be to think about syncing Logic's tempo to the MPC tempo, so that when the recorded notes are in Logic, the Logic project is at the same tempo as the music, and the notes are in the correct place compared to the Logic grid, in case you want to use that in Logic for other things, and have the music running at the same tempo as Logic's tempo/metronome/grid/etc.

Thanks Simon, i will definitely take those thngs into consideration. Yes everything seemed to be setup correctly and outputting fine but just no record for some awkward reason-logic play head is not cycling while record light is on in logic but mpc continues to play the 8 bar loop i created...hmmm
Im not sure what was going on with that logic project but i saved it and started a new sequence on mpc and new project on logic- now everything is recording just fine....wtf...? Wow this is mysterious, i hope this will be working more consistently now
