How to deal with clashing bass and kick?
Here's my favorite method – using some plugins by MeldaProduction​ (no, this is not an ad).

How is this different from standard sidechaining? Regular sidechaining pushes down the entire signal, but this one shows how to only push down a very specific frequency range so you can preserve most of the signal and only deal with problematic frequencies.
Let's say you have a noisy bass only want to have its sub duck...here's how.

Yeah, for sure; what I demonstrated is pretty much the same thing.

(PS: What I forgot to show in the video is that you can actually SEE the sidechain signal in the sonogram in MDynamicEQ – you go to "settings" in the analyzer pane and select "sidechain" (instead of "input" or "output" to see the sidechain signal in sonogram...it's super handy).
