Going to buy it then and check how noisy it is, however, Behringer have apparently up their game but this looks much better than the Alesis.

I've actually also heard better feedback on their mixers the last few years. Definitely looks to be a good move at $150.

I won't be doing it anytime soon. But the idea of both iPads as sound modules probably would be worth another $150 to me.
I can't find reviews anywhere on the iStudio, but the one user review at ZSounds is very favorable although brief.

dope Lamp, its amazing what you can do on an ipad now.
OK Meta quick question, but do you Auria?, if so how well does it work with the IO dock for recording stuff?

I was talking to Lamp about his process on his track and the obvious dawned on me I never bought ANY multi track app.
I'm pretty sure this lady I know in a FB group that works professionally recording, said she has Auria and the dock and she was thumbs up on it.
I think I'll just try to use Beatmaker 2 for pasting a whole song together if I try what Lamp did with strictly iOS flow.

oh snap I have beatmaker 2, so basically what I wanted was to track stuff from the mpc to the bm so that be possible easily with the dock?. Still getting the istudio but should be the same regardless, can't wait to get my 64gb ipad 3 this week. Going to jam it with samples and albums to sample and have all the synths I need.
Definitely feel like the dock will make it feel more like an instrument to me.

I've used the dock more for recording into my PC/Mac. But yeah I figure with midi sync going you could record some pretty lengthy samples, and it's no problem to load whole bars onto pads in BM2. Then record on a grid to get those longer samples on the timeline correctly.
Having proper 1/4" I/O and a decent gain control really does change the whole game with the good apps. I'm always just smiling at how $5-$20 apps sound just as good as my $200+ VST/AU's. And with a DAW on the desktop involved it's easier to switch MIDI to the apps, from keyboards, MPD's and the like, or even an MPC.
I think you'd need the MIDI bus app to have multiple controllers going without using a DAW's MIDI routing to toggle.
I have some BM2 PGM's I made for the 2500, I'll post alink after I find what CF there on. BM2 starts way down at Note #1, I made 2 PGM's to cover all 8 banks.
I just got Thor and I would be in heaven if they released ReDrum, Kong or both. Beatmaker 2 can almost be used like a portable Recycle the way you can folder your chops.
I have the iPad 3, not nearly as beast CPU wise as the 4, but it's holding up well with all the top apps.

Cheers that be great if you can, going to get Thor. What other apps are good?. Its been a while since I owned a pad so not sure what is new already a few.

Just needing people smarter than me, but currently I'm outputting audio from the ipad headphone. I can't get an istudio yet however, is that a bad method?
