some people gotta a dongle on there house connected to the police station,but noooo not on my computer though I think some of us need to go to some poor country and discuss issue's with the native's.they would be like you gotta house and a car and how many computer's 1 piece of our equipment can feed a village,and we trippin' about a dongle.like A.I. said practice????practice??????

Yeah, it's required to run Pro Tools 9 without hardware. It sucks because in order to change the buffer setting, Pro Tools has to be completely shut down and rebooted, where as with the Mbox, I can just change the buffer, wait 2 seconds for the change to take effect and keep working. I haven't tried ASIO4ALL with Reason though. I'll try it now though!

Yeah, you're right. ASIO4ALL does work good with Reason. Plays perfectly at a buffer of 64! Good shit!

i would buy reason IF!!.....it enables VST annnnnddd a built in sampler cause i hate paying seperate for ReCycle which IMO is retarded and a shet load of money. One of the big reasons why i stick to ableton and i might move to Logic when i get a macbookpro, which i hear its wayyyyy better then Reason

No it wont. Most people are selfish jerks who only care about how they can personally get ahead. In an ideal world your situation would work but its clear that over a 10 year period of time that it hasn't. I personally hate the dongle but I understand why its there. The dongle has been around since 2009 and has not been cracked yet. I think they have every right to try to protect their investment.

The NNXT has been there and its modeled after the asr10. And as of Reason 5 the samplers can sample. You never really needed Recycle anyway.

The problem is that dongles (or any form of DRM) do not protect their investment, because it wrongly assumes that if a crack doesn't exist, somehow all these file sharers will suddenly cough up £450 and pay for the software. I wonder how many file sharers have bought a copy of Record, just because there's no crack for it? Not many, because these guys don't buy anything other than VPN subscriptions and big hard drives.

Meanwhile, legitimate customers are inconvenienced for the sake of the few 'converted' pirates the dongle brings in. It's head in the sand stuff IMO - it all goes back to the initial emotional reaction all content creators get when they realise their stuff is pirated - 'My god, how dare they get my stuff for free, I must do anything and everything to stop them!'. I got this the first time I discovered my entire web site content going for free on various file sharing sites. But I eventually realised these were not lost sales, and there was no way I was going to introduce any DRM that would inconvenience my valued customers even by 1%.

is this 6 pages about dongles? it's never really been an issue for me to plug the record dongle in. you don't have to keep it in. it's simply to start up the program. you can unplug it right when the program starts and plug it back in when you want to have extra exporting features. if that's why you guys aren't interested in reason 6 then that's definitely your prerogative. i got reason/record education version for $250. and i'm glad because reason 6 is a little pricey for only having a couple additions. reason and logic is a cool combo. got logic 9 free. whatchu know about that?
