Logic Pro X

Actually it is two separate systems logic x doesn't replace logic 9 or overwrite it. You will have both on your computer. The new midi plugins, softsynths and the additional libraries is worth the 200 bones.

Not necessarily, Coz. Depending on the resolution, the graphics may actually appear relatively bigger and more readable. I should have been more specific. On larger high resolution displays it can be a bit harder to read. At the same time, on large displays with lower resolutions like 1920 x 1080 or 1920 x 1200, it will probably be less of an issue. I haven't tested a retina display, yet.

As for the upgrade. Personally, I think it's easily worth $200 for new purchasers or those interested in what's on offer (which won't be everyone). It's nothing compared to the upgrade prices that some other DAW developers are asking. Hell, it's less expensive than some plug-ins and you get quite a bit more in the way of improvements and new tools. However, I would look at what all the update entails and decide if it's worth it for you, mr.pleasant.

I think the GUI was designed more for laptops than desktops. This is the Logic Pro I always wanted besides a better implementation of live sampling, but I'll just simply continue using my MPC for that.

I thought so too. I read where a few people were gushing and giving praise to that feature but I haven't bothered with it yet, even though I downloaded the content. However, people seem to buy up a lot of 3rd-party products that do a similar thing for more than what one pays for Logic itself, so maybe we just don't get the draw of those types of products.

I'm pretty sure it could be used creatively though.

Gotcha. I hadn't considered that.

How do i get MPC Ren to show as a AU instrument in logic pro X. when i go to instrument slot on the channel strip in logic pro X, akai is not listed. Im running MPC software in 64 bit mode

Try to use the AU manager for the setting and see if it is on.

Nothing about akai is showing in AU manager in logic pro X.

Then you should try to rerun the AU manager to see if
Logic X will pick it up.

Figured it out, had to reinstall my MPC drivers. Thanks for the assist Blue.

I haven't bothered to read up about Logic Pro X until just now. This looks like more of a suitable DAW for me in all aspects. There's a lot of good stuff in here for $199.

If LPX ran on Snow Leopard I'd be all over it already. My system is too stable for me to even think about upgrading.

this is exactly why im still on 10.5.8

that time stretch they put on logic 9 looks cool though, but im never upgrading!

at least not on this computer!
