FL Studio is finally stepping up their game. FL Studio running on Mac OSX?

finally some more news on this... there has been a beta build for a while now but this is a bit different.

i've seen some producers running FL Studio on a Mac via Boot Camp, but who wants to deal with that. if they can get it down and it's stable, they're gonna make some $$$

seen some producers using ableton for making loops, timestretching, warping, effects, etc... then exporting out of ableton, launching Boot Camp and sequencing in FL Studio. would def make life easier for them.

It's not really a build for Mac OSX but a stand-alone "bottle" for Crossover Mac, right? Of course without the need for the main application. So, essentially it's still a Windows application then. You've always been able to use a lot of Windows software in Crossover but they must have done some unique tweaking since MIDI was always historically problematic or non-existent. I'm not a FL Studio user but if they've gotten this ironed out for audio use this may be a precursor to a lot of other audio tools (mostly freeware Win software). With proper MIDI in Crossover there will be no more need for some of the more arcane ways to run Windows only DAW and synths "directly" on a Mac. For instance running Windows synths in sometimes flaky apps like SM Pro's VFX and shit. Cool!

Yes, it's exactly how you described. On the Image Line forum they are asking people what interfaces they have, when you request to be part of the beta. It seems they want to get as much feedback on that as possible. I've got 4 different interfaces lying around, I'm more than happy to help them out.

you have a legit license then? what edition and version do you have?

We have been working with CodeWeavers for the past year or so in developing a special version of FL Studio that runs in a customized Crossover wrapper (a Windows emulator/wrapper). This means that you DON'T need anything else (like a Windows installation, Boot Camp or CrossOver) to run FL Studio on Mac OSX. Just install FL Studio using the supplied .dmg and away you go!

Yeah, I bought FL back at version 5, and bought the $29 lifetime upgrades. I'm running the 10.0.2 version, Producer Edition, they've done away with the XXL in the name (only the cracks have that in the name anymore). If you own the extra VST's, they list it as Signature Box in your account.

I don't know if everyone who asked to be in the Beta will get an invite, or if they're choosing a limited amount. They wanted to specifically know what Mac HW/OS version you had, and what interface you are using. They said they beta will roll out late September or early October.

yeah I know they stopped calling it XXL... but you know... habits.. I been calling it xxl for nearly a decade lol.

What I laughed at about the lightest version is how you dont get piano roll lmao! What a dick thing to omit
