Latency to death with FL studio and MPC 1000.

Yo, whenever I make a beat in FL studio I like to do my drums in the MPC.
It all works fine, I use midi sync so when I click start in FL studio, my MPC starts its sequence.
But I'd like to record both at the same time, but the latency is horrible on my computer. It's just offbeat whenever I record it. I already have changed my latency in the interface settings, but it crashes when its too low.
Is there a way I can work around this?

yo can someone help him, because you'd help me! i made a beat yesterday with the MP and did a lot of melody work in FL and recording through abelton all at one time is a ****! tempo is shifting left and right FL's notorious cracklepopping, someone help!

i know the ultimate answer is to go ahead and get that appleMBP w/8G of RAM! and a maschine, then their wouldnt be a need for my MP nor FL!! a few more months till my bonus check! :mrgreen:

Every interface has latency. Low buffer settings will always produce crackle and digital errors. There's no way around those two things. The better your computers parts and the better you interface is designed the lower the latency you will have, but there is always latency.

Is your computer optimized for audio, turn off extra graphics and background services that you don't need or use. Defrag your hard drive.

try to install asio drivers (if you're using a pc)
http://www.asio4all.com/
workig fine for me
but if you want to use 2 DAWs togheter on the same pc i think you'll always have latency
try to record on another computer (if you can)
or use an external recorder

Latency is always there, whether your gear/computer are good enough to make it unnoticeable is a different story. Human ears can perceive 4-5ms delay of audio. Most people up in here have been doing this for a while and notice lower than 5ms.

I don't speak on apple, I don't and have never used one.
I also don't use a 25, fl, live or a maschine.

My advice, dont put so many plugins in each track, bus, master bus.
Don't make so many tracks, up to MAYBE 10-14 before you start hearing clicks, pops, dropouts due to buffer size. You can't just run wild and and so many audio tracks and plugins and think everything is ok.

Try a fresh daw session, with 4 audio tracks, then 1 plugin each, with your lowest buffer setting. Maybe you'll get no pops because your computer is able to handle that easily, you see what I'm saying. If pops, use the next higest buffer setting, etc. Try out stuff like that to get to know your limits. Computers and Interfaces work together on this.
