Repeating segments (looping) in Cubase 5

So I'm a fairly new Cubase user, and it's been a pain in the arse to repeat segements, or loop segments, in Cubase 5.

I come from the days of Acid Pro 4.0, where looping was a breeze. You could click select the end of a segment and paste a copy of it right there. Copy/paste/repeat and your track was looped in less than a minute.

It's hard to explain, but Cubase looping has been alot more archaic. I'm not talkin' about turning on the cycle button, but actually duplicating segments over and over, placing them exactly where you want them, right at the end of the previous segment. It takes forever in Cubase.

There's gotta be an easier way to do this is Cubase. Any users got any tips/ideas out there?

I haven't used Cubase in a long long time but I believe Cubase/Nuendo both have duplicate and repeat region commands. One allows you to make real copies, where they are unique instances of the region you duplicated and the other are mirrored copies where any edits apply to all duplicated regions identically. Both I believe allow you to input how many repeats you want. I just can't remember the commands themselves since my brain now thinks in tune with the commands and functions of other DAW. Cubase also has what was Steinberg's take on a MPC Song Mode, where you could define sections and repeat those sections however many times and in what order you wanted using the inspector. Arranger Tracks inspector or something like that?

Again, it's been a while so I apologize if functions in other DAW have cross pollinated in my mind and that isn't the case with Cubase/Nuendo but if I remember correctly it was. A Cubase user will know the exact details.

Then there's always moving it around manually or using the common modifier keys like copy (cmd+c), paste (cmd+v) or whatever, as it applies in your OS.
