stutter edit and/or turnado

hello,

i read lambdogs article about audio editing

after this and a internet research, i am interessted in the big difference of these plug ins.
i know there is a fader/ button difference and turnado has a vast range of effects inside.
are they at the end of the day the same?

i am looking for a plug in which i can "start" on the fly and the effects work in the current time. (e.g. at 1.0 is a kick and 1.2 is a snare switching/hitting/fading an effect and after that it will be back in the timing of the orgin loop.)
which of them fits the job and what is your favourite stutter effect??
