Reason 10-making songs from 8 bar loops (Danoc?!?)

Any good videos or tips for making songs from 8 bar loops in Reason 10? My old bandmates come over once a month or so and I’m looking for a better way of actually ending up with songs instead of just live jam sessions. When I’m on my own I do all my drums and sample chopping in my MPC, and record a live performance with track mutes and basically add new tracks over the top of that. I’m looking for pointers or videos on how to make finished songs from 8 bars loops we kind of round robin from various instruments and drum machines and whatnot...thanks y’all!
