MPC Studio - No Q-link controls?

I don't see any Q-Link adjective applied to the knobs on the MPC Studio. Can some one explain further how the MPC studio will control (via midi) virtual knobs and settings in the VST instruments or VST effects that it hosts? When using the MPC Studio to host Mach 5 a user may not want to pick up the mouse to change the cutoff value on a filter. Which MPC Studio knob would allow me to do this?

The Akaipro.com website uses this language with respect to the MPC Studio knobs: "Four touch-sensitive knobs provide enhanced MPC software control."

That looks like it can be used with the Studio software but perhaps not other software.

The MPC Ren shows this language for its knobs: "16 backlit genuine MPC pads, 16 Q-Link controls, and adjustable backlit LCD screen."

The Qlink knobs control instrument and effect params. The Studio has 4 Qlinks which can control up to 96 params. I am the type of user that doesn't want to pick up a mouse unless I have to. But with 4 Qlinks controlling up to 96 params, it may be easier just to use the mouse in some cases.

Thanks for pointing that out! I went back and looked at the photo and it does say Q-link. I missed that. This is good. If I need more than 4 I can always control it with the MPD32 but, I don't plan on that being the norm though. 4 should be plenty for me as MOTU makes it easy to re-assaign controller knobs to their software.

REN certainly appeals to my eye but the Studio is the smart buy for my current setup. I don't really have any analog conversion needs that a $250 interface would not satisfy.

I'm not making any decisions yet we'll see what happens.

I wouldn't bank on using an MPD24. Akai hasn't indicated that external controllers can control this MPC software.

I would control the plug-in (Mach Five) with the MPD32 not the Studio. Right click on 'cutoff' -> "Midi Learn" ->Turn any knob on the MPD and the M5 'cutoff' is instantly paired to the knob that sent in the midi data.

But as I said, I would like to do the same thing by turning one of the 4 Q-link knobs on the Studio and not have to use two controllers.
