After reading the manual.

What stuff did u like after reading the manual?

I liked the fact that u can half the velocity by pressing shift+full vel.

and that u can change to higher inqrements be pressing shift and clicking the knobs with the mouse.

that its has the cycle pad feature from the 5k and strength and duration fields in the swing field like the 5k love those features

I skimmed through the manual and went to my 2500 to see if the Ren's screens look the same as my 2500 and alot of them were almost identical on the controller.

Yeah, I use the stock Akai OS. I don't really do sampling, mainly use my 2500 for sequencing and triggering a lot of hardware synths,etc

Skimmed through it, not impressed. Seems like there's only barebones views on hw-lcd so it's really not viable to use it instead of the computer screen.

The Main, Step Seq, Song, Sample Record, Next Seq, Pad/Track Modes look pretty much like traditional MPC screens. Program Edit and Mixer Modes have been modified to correspond with the 16 Qlinks. I had zero learning curve using the Ren's hardware as it performs just like a hardware MPC.

But I would never forgo my computer monitor. Some important features are more intuitive when using the software. Full screen sample and program editing are highlights...as well Sequence Editing for a level of control never seen before in an MPC.
