CANT SAVE PROJECTS!!!! (Windows 7)

Cant save projects on my windows 7 system.Im able to save on my windows xp system.It'll ask for destination,i press save and nothin happens.I quit,reopen and my project folder is empty.Anyone else runnin a windows system or am i the only person?????? Really annoying.Sometimes it wont recognize the ren either.Uninstalled everything,re-installed NOTHIN.

I am running Windows 7, 64 Bit without any saving issues. Here to help you sort out your issue.

I assume you have the MPC software and hardware installed and authorized.

Try these steps:
1. Load a 'Program and MIDI sequence' that shipped with the Ren
2. Press Play Start to hear that it plays back appropriately
3. From File Menu, choose 'Save Project as'
4. Click the [New Folder] button displayed in the lower left of the 'Save Project' popup
5. Enter 'Save Test' as the name of the folder; press ok
6. At the top of the 'Save Project' popup, select your PC's 'Desktop' as a save location
7. Press Save
8. Close your MPC software and then reopen
9. Once your software is open, use the file browser to navigate to your PC's desktop
10. Find the 'Save Test' folder; open the folder and click on the .xpj file to load

Ill try that! One thing i thought about was i used offline authorize on my winxp system (which works fine but) and online on my laptop.My internet is super slow so maybe it didnt authorize all the way,leaving it in demo mode without the ability to save.Imma try offline unlock and see how that works.

NOTHING! I went to desktop and it just took me back to the default MPC location.Everytime i click save the dialog lust reloads with no progress bar and the folders i make for the projects are completly empty.I uninstalled 3 times already and didnt have to authorize which is weird.I wanna do offline authorize to see if that makes a diff.Im goin crazy here! someone help.

Really? You just didn't write WinXP? This may or may not be an issue. But I don't think that OS is supported.


Regardless....
Go to the 'About MPC' page. When you open it up, it should display software version and whether it is registered.

When installing the Ren, there are three installs you have to do. The driver must be installed first and then the actual MPC software and library.

First go to Windows Control Panel and Uninstall Program section. Disconnect your Ren. Uninstall:
1. MPC Renaissance driver
2. MPC 1.0.0
3. MPC Factory Content

After uninstalling these shut down your computer completely and d. Then turn it back on again.
1. Insert the MPC DVD and click the installer

2. Install the MPC Renaissance driver. During installation, it will ask you to connect your Ren to your PCs USB 2.0 port (make sure the Ren is powered on). After a few moments, the installer will ask you to disconnect the Ren from the USB port and then prompt you to plug it back in again. This should complete the driver install.

3. Next install the software and the factory content. Once this is done, launch the Ren software by double clicking the MPC icon. **The Ren should be turned ON before opening the software**

4. If the software isn't registered/authorized, there should be a message telling you to register it. Follow the instructions for activating it online.

This process should work. Or there will be a message indicating you exceeded authorizations.

If that doesn't work try a full reinstall. Driver, software then content.

also, make sure you have NO FILTER selected in the browser. you might just be looking at samples or something, and so the folder LOOKS blank, but the project is actually there. this got me a couple times before i started using the filter a lot.

The REN works on my WINXP system!!!!! My WINDOWS 7 system is the one having probs.Imma try and reinstall again!!!!! Thinkin bout reformatting as well.

The folders are COMPLETELY EMPTY on the software and the ones located in the MPC directory and desktop.Nothin,nada,ZIP!!!!!!!!

Bout to do this for the fourth time! on the verge on re-formatting.

Never installed the content! i dont see how that would fix the prob but i guess ill try it this next install.

And just curious....the manual states the minimum system requirements, why are you on an unsupported OS?

DO U KNOW HOW TO READ???????????????????????????? I already responded to this and the folders are COMPLETLY EMPTY INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE SOFTWARE,THE SAVE BOX RESETS WHEN I CLICK SAVE WITH NO PROGRESS BAR IN SITE.MY WINDOWS XP SYSTEM WORKS FINE AND SAVES NO PROB.MY WINDOWS 7,LET ME REPEAT,WINDOWS 7 SYSTEM IS THE ONE THAT HAS SAVE PROBS.I just wrote my Ren report and will post to the bugs thread and email to akai as well.If anyone can help,that'll be great.

Please make sure you have NO FILTER pressed when you try it again. It sounds like thats what it is.
