Some users have been experiencing issues with installation discs. Some discs have GBs of content and take an hour plus to install. During the process it may appear that the software isn't installing. If you leave it alone, it should finish on its own.
If all else fails, contact Akai tech support that will be able to assist you. However, you don't have to wait for assistance. On the Mac, there is an easy way to create a disc image from these MPC discs that will install without any further problem.
1. Insert your MPC disc in your drive
2. Launch the Mac's Disk Utility application
3. You will see your MPC disc in the menu on the left
4. Select your MPC disc and then select 'New Image'
5. Choose an easy to find destination for the new image like your desk top
Once the process is complete, a .dmg file will be saved. Clicking on the .dmg file will install your MPC applications without issue. You can save the .dmg file to a DVD or just archive it on your hardware for later use if needed.
You should be able to do a something similar using a PC.
