I have a gazillion vst's and this thing keeps getting hung up on rapture. AKAI are you kidding me?
I know I don't post much, but this is getting me frustrated! :x

Remove the plugin from your folder and re-scan. Add it back afterwards and try to scan again. You might luck out and have it pass scan when the second scan only has to account for one plugin that hasn't been previously scanned.

If it never passes scan, go with the list you got off the scan without it and re-add it so at least your other software can still use it.

Ableton has had similar inexplicable behavior for years. I get lucky at times and 2nd or third scan it's like "Oh sure no problem". But I usually have to shuffle the plugin (or all it's versions VST/AU component) out of the folder and back at some point. Even though I know the problem is the host scan, I sometimes un-install the plugin, wipe all registry traces of it (Windows) or all user data/.plist files pertaining to the plugin (OS X) and re-install.

On PC I would use CCleaner to clean the traces after uninstall (or uninstall through CCleaner), on OS X I would use Trash me. Both are free, and there's an OS X CCleaner in the Mac Store for free as well.

I don't have a REn so I couldn't comment specifically to the issue in that context, but again it happens in other hosts too, and I figure the same kind of troubleshooting is all you can really do. Maybe if the issue is widespread some new incompatibility from the update can be determined.

Hope you luck out and it eventually scans it.
