So I'm currently going through the MPC manual (quick start tutorial) and it asks you to create a new Keygroup Program to record some bass.

This worked previously before updating the software.

Previously, when I was in Prog Edit I could click on "Add New Program" and select "Keygroup" type from a drop down box next to Prog. However, now this option does not exist and it only gives me the option of <none>. But I have worked out how to add a new program, although I have no idea how to set it up as "Key Group" type.

Has anyone else had this problem or can shed any light?

Cheers

With the Software :

In Main Mode windows, create a new program and just select the type, below, between Drums, plugin, midi or Keygroup.

Or on the Hardware :

Browse to highlight the Program on the MPC main mode screen, push the windows button (Red Highlighted), press [new] then choose Keygroup.

Enjoy !

Edit : I just realize that you can't convert CHOPS to KEYGROUP !!! I don't remember if it was possible in previous versions ? Is It the problem you pointed ?

Converting Chops to a Keygroup program was never a feature but something I would like to see.

I don't know. I personally submitted this along with several hundred others.

Not only would I like to see Slices converted to Keygroup Programs, I wish there was a way to convert Keygroup Programs to Drum Programs and vice versa.
