Thanks for all the troubleshooting. I didn't have any particular preset up. just had them up and zeroed. On the Quad I'm only getting two plugins more than you. Thats interesting. I'm gonna leave a ticked for UA tomorrow and let them know. Maybe Daws like Maschine and Renn make the Apollo react differently thank DAWs like logic, live and so on.

Glad you were able to reproduce that so now I know how to move forward. Just a heads up didn't have the problem doing the same thing with the 1073.

Thanks again

I want to look into this further using identical settings as you. Can you provide the following information?

1. What Sample Rate, Bit depth, and buffer settings are you using in the MPC Software? Is the Apollo or Ren listed as the audio device in the MPC Preference menu?

2. Are you using the Apollo's VST or AU plugins within the MPC software? What are the Apollo's settings (Sample rate, buffer settings, etc)?

3. How does Logic perform using the same tests?

Hey Jah

Heres the info you requested

1. MPC Ren Sample rate 44hz bit rate 24 buffer 128
Apollo is the input Ren is Output in Audio Pref

2. Mpc Ren is in Stand alome Mode

Apollo setting is 44.1 buffering is set to medium

3. In logic X i can open 38 APIs in Stereo before I get the DSP message

Thanks

I did further tests using your exact settings. 11 API 560s is the max I can use on an Apollo Duo. Adding a 12th instance will cause one or more plugins to be disabled. Same results in both 32 and 64 bit of the MPC Software, Pro Tools 10, and Logic Pro 9.

Maschine, on the other hand, called it quits when enabling a 6th API 560 in both 32 bit and 64 bit.

Conclusion - The Apollo Duo's performance on the MPC Ren/MPC Software is the same as Pro Tools 10 and Logic 9.

Amaysin, I strongly suggest getting in contact with both UA and Akai support regarding this issue so that you can get a definitive and authoritative answer. The issues clearly don't seem to exist on your system in Logic Pro X.
