Ok, I'm looking to take a track and record whatever 'pad mutes' and 'track mutes' I make along the way.

What is the best way to go about this?

I'm currently in a drum kit with the pad mute page up and randomly muting pads but looking to perform the whole track this way, say over 6 minutes or so and have the whole thing record so I can play it back and have what I've 'played live' recorded and be editable (if possible) then do the same for other tracks/pads within the 'sequence' and have this be the song.

What is the best way to do this? Or is it even possible?

Thanks for your help folks.

The only way that comes to my mind is create a song around the main loop for 6 minutes or so in the 'song' section then create a sequence out of this. Once that's done just play that sequence, hit record and start making those pad mutes live.

Does that make sense? Any easier/quicker way of doing the above?

You are on track. Do it exactly as your described above.
