This evening I updated the driver and software to v1.5 and then updated the firmware to v1.10. I then opened up a song that I've been working on the past few days. WOW! The CPU cycle usage is 1/2 of what it was before running v1.4, and the old firmware. This is a MAJOR difference!

I now see my Diva instances (three) actually using the other cores (multi-threading option turned on inside Diva). No more audio glitches from the CPU spiking or dropouts! Completely smooth and responsive playback.

I think Akai has done some serious code cleanup with this iteration. Im wondering if they did something with hyper-threading or multi-core in this build?

Anyone else noticing less CPU usage with songs they previous had been working on?

Wow thats really awesome to hear. So DIVA has code to use the other processors built in? Crazy :hmmm:

Yea, but even when I had 'multi-threading' turned on inside Diva (when using MPC v1.4), it never seemed to take advantage of the other cores... Not sure why I've seen such a dramatic decrease in CPU use. The only thing that has changed is the MPC software/firmware.

In MPC 1.4 when i turned multi-thread inside Diva, it was doing nothing.

I gotta admit that after reading your topic i tried to turn multi thread mode inside Diva within 1.5 and...my CPU usage is now super low.

That sounds awesome but i wanna give it some more tries before jumping into conclusions because some patch are eating different amounts of CPU.

I was running 3 instances of Diva: two using 'great' and one using 'draft'. The CPU is sitting at 1/4 lights on the REN. There is no imaging that the performance is substantially better.
