Keygroups vs. Global Mixer.

Hi,

Because a Global Mixer doesn't exist (or the possibility to simply add Plug-Ins to entire Programs), we're all looking for alternatives.

This one is for JAH, but if anyone else knows, feel free to share.

My question is this...

On this thread: viewtopic.php?f=45&t=150858&start=510 , JAH says "The only way to apply an effect to a Drum Program is to insert the FX on the corresponding Track. If you use assign your chops to a key group program, then you can apply effects to an entire program."

The problem is, the only way I know how to use Keygroups, is how it is explained in the manual : you assign one sample to a Keygroup, and that sample spreads throughout all the Pads.

So I would like to know, if possible: how can we create Keygroups with a different sample per Pad. I'm not talking about the "Assign Your Chops to Keygroup Program" function that JAH refers to. I'm talking about putting different samples on different Pads in a Keygroup, like on a normal Drum Program.

Read the 1.5 manual starting from page #96.

1. Enter Keygroup Program Edit Mode

2. Locate 'NO. KG' param to the left of the virtual keyboard at the bottom of your screen

3. Change it from '1' to '128'

4. Press F1 [Master]

You can do the following steps in the software using a mouse...but here is the hardware workflow:
5. Press [SHIFT] + PAD A01 to select Keygroup 1

6. Use data dial or number keys to set the Low Note or High Note for Keygroup 1. Using the data dial set them both to C-2. Or you can press '0' then [ENTER] to enter C-2 as the Low and High Note.

7. Press [SHIFT] + PAD A02 to select Keygroup 2

8. Use data dial or number keys to set the Low Note or High Note for Keygroup 2. Using the data dial set them both to C#-2. Or you can press '1' then [ENTER] to enter C#-2 as the Low and High Note.

9. Press [SHIFT] + PAD A03 to select Keygroup 3

10. Use data dial or number keys to set the Low Note or High Note for Keygroup 3. Using the data dial set them both to D-2. Or you can press '2' then [ENTER] to enter D-2 as the Low and High Note.

11. Keep repeating this pattern for all the pads. Then save as a preset/template for later use.
