Midi rack help

Hello,
So i have a Korg TR rack hooked up to my mpc ren. I am able to record one track,then when i try to to go to a new track to record it changes the sound. Say for instance on track 1 i record a kick,then i select track 2 change the program to midi 2 for some bass,my track one kick turns to the new sound i select. I tried changing the midi channel,but then my previous channel cannot be heard. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is your rack set to "multi-mode"?

Yes, multi-mode, you setup 16 different sounds, and can assign them to the 16 MIDI channels.

on the Front panel of the TR rack, in the center of the button panel, there are 4 buttons that correspond to your ;

COMBI MODE
PROGRAM MODE
EDIT
GLOBAL / MULTI

what you want to do, is turn unit on, hit GLOBAL button twice.
