My samples are muting each other?

I'm using MPC Software 1.5. I took a drum break wav and loaded it. I went to Sample Edit and chopped it. Then I started to program my own drum pattern with the chopped samples. When I started to put a hi hat over the kick and snare it stared sounding weird like the hi hat would play but not other samples at the same time.

To test this I used note repeat, 16ths, and neither the kick or snare would play as I was doing this.

Any help would be appreciated, I feel like it's something silly I'm overlooking.

When you chop up something and create a program with the CONVERT button, the software automatically put all the chops(pads)in a the MUTEGROUP 1 in the PGM Edit Page you can change it. Also it makes the program MONO, so for playing more than 1 pad at a time you should put this to POLY.
Both this actions will do what you are looking for.

That has done it. Thank you! Is there anyway to just change the entire program's mute group? b/c I couldn't see it so I had to change each pad individually.

You can choose to edit parameters in multi edit mode.. or all mode.. In pgm edit mode on the software you see it at the bottom..

Programs should be Poly by default imo nor should they be assigned to any mute group by default Akai is bugging out smh

hit the program edit button and go to the pad play modes tab. there you can assign each pad to a specific mute group in the same program assuming your programs set to poly already
