There are times when I'm in the sample edit window and I have a sample chopped and playing it on the pads. I think to myself I wish I could record this right now. Which made me think Akai should add a function that lets you record into your sequence from Sample edit page.

Record a Sample
Chop it up in edit.
Hit record/play.
Play chops in from Sample Edit.
Done.

Then making chops a complete new program would be optional. Also, would speed up workflow. At least mine.

I ehm often use My memory To remember what I was playing, so I can play it after I chopped and converted it......
not to be offending, but this would my least favorite feature request...i understand what u mean tho" but it never happened to me, that I couldn't remember or recreate my ideas.... And I smoke a lotta reefer :smoker:
my tip would be don't mess around or jam or play with your chops before u converted them...

Im talking about a faster workflow. The same reason people ask to have 16 mono outs even though you could ehm pan a stereo channel hard right and and hard left to have 16 mono outs. I'f they happen to implement I sure a lot of people would use it. If you choose to not thats cool too. Though I suspect you would haha.

oh yeah and just like naming sequences on the hardware even though you could do it in the software. Its all personal preference.

U suspected wrong :-D sorry for My previous post, nuttin but luv
and Your right, It should Be possible and can Be convenient, as long as u don't edit the chops u played before u convert it...but I also suspect that there has to be some, sort of audio chop sample to be sequenced so that might use up a lot of space...before u even started on a track....but yes if its there I will probably use it too and record while in sample, edit mode but it would be rarely
I rather finish chopping it up all the way,the way I like completely before I start hitting those pads, don't want to be going back and forward to sample,edit...just want to be jamming...when I press,rec/play

Impossible... why?

You can't "record your chops to the sequence" without converting them to actual slices, just because you're in sample edit and it looks like you have slices, unless you convert them to slices then they aren't slices yet and you can't record them. Thats just how mpcs work. The sample edit mode isn't like a program or key group that sends recordable midi data to your sequencer. You can only record programs, key groups, ext midi, plugins. They would have to re-write the whole software to make that work.

I vote no.
