My computer will not notice/read my Mpc Studio

I plug my MPC Studio up to my computer & when I open the software (after installing) to unlock it, it says that I first have to attach the hardware!

Keep in mind that the mpc studio is plugged up via USB & it still ask me to attach the hardware! !!

I have tried everything. .what am I doing wrong? ?

Is it powered up, screen lit and showing MPC?

Is it plugged directly into the computer USB port, not through a USB hub or other device?

Have you tried a different USB cable?

Have you tried different USB ports, and removed all other USB devices that you can, to test it with nothing else connected?

What version of MPC Software have you tried to install?

Did it give any messages about trying to update the firmware inside the MPC?

Are any of the pads lit up?

Keep the studio plugged into USB.
Turn the computer off but keep the USB plugged in and the studio switched on.
Turn the computer back on.
Studio shoud light up.
Open software.

Ok?
It's shit I know, but its what I need to do every time!
