MPC Ren and Korg Kronos X

Anyone here have that type of setup? How are you combining both to get the most of of both in a song production? Midi? Sampling? Controller map?

If i had it, i'd use the mpc for sequencing and the korg as a soundmodule. Sample it into the software rather than having a complex midi setup.. Get shit done faster..

KronosX has much better Sequencer, it can combine samples, sounds and midi in one sequence. Rather impossible to use long samples and have them synched with MPC.

Set the timing for midi with one being Master and the other slave to the clock.
Requires midi connections to both.

I use Cubase 7 as DAW, and it is the master clock, MPC and Kronos are slaves to the Cubase clock. This way you can use the best of both of them with Cubase to perform the master timing and to record all sounds.

There are tutorials on syncing the clocks for Cubase on Youtube.

Thanks for the info. I sat my ass down last night and decided to figure the monster out (K. Kronos). Yes this keyboard is a bad mama jama for now. I'm going to resurrect an old Motu Midi express 128 I have which is parallel ported. Going to order a LPT to usb converter cable to see if this work. I have about five midi devices including the REN to midi up and tired of swapping cables. 1 day of this is enough. Lol.
