If you have it tuned to input... Well then there is no output.

So turn knob back to straight up and down so you get both.

These questions may seem stupid, but did you turn up your master volume? And did you turn up your HP output level?

Have u got audio coming from your speakers ,
The rec gain is for controlling the input level of a source connected to your inputs on the ren, eg ,microphone ,analog keyboard , MP3 player , record deck , there are various switches at the back to change these from mic/ line in etc. if you have nothing connected to the ren then you don't need to touch this knob,

The direct mon knob mixes the inputs connected to the ren with the sound that is produced by your computer if you are using the ren as your sound card or using the mpc software if you have nothing connected to the ren then this can be set to the right opp to input ,
There is also another one of these knobs next to the headphone volume knob turn this to the right

Do both headphone sockets produce static

The volume knob controls the volume there are two of these ,main and headphone

when i try to set my sound on my macbook pro to output ren it does not read the type it reads that its renaissance but no type . and i tried monitors threw stereo out and still nothing . i did hook up my dj controller to the phono in and it played threw the headphone jack of the ten so my head phone jack is not broke. i then switched the ren settings from ren to numark output hooked my controller usb to the back of the ten and my ren will play out the monitors like that , if I'm running threw my dj controller sound card . how much does it cost to get sound card replaced in ren or do i have to get a whole new board replaced ? is it a good idea to run the ren thew my dj controller or will i blow the sound card on that? is there any external sound card that is recommended ? or should i just return the ren i got it for a nice price $510.00, external is clean almost new , what would y'all recommend ? new board is $200.00. but is there a way i can just get the sound card replaced?
