I haven't had a crash on mpc ren since v1.4 and that's because I haven't touch it. I was getting nice with the maschine 1.8 and I brought maschine studio november at launch and never look back. Maschine is my weapon of choice. As a matter of fact I built a new pc this summer and didn't bother installing the mpc software. I was going to see if the v1.7 live up to the hype and if not I was going to sell it, like I did the mpc5000 last month.

I swapped my ren for maschine studio , I do wish I'd kept my ren but I didn't have the deskspace, but the major point for me is I can use it in my daw ,dragging the midi and that ,it's never crashed , tho I have sent it back to native because the hardware rotary encoders were playing up ,but there gonna replace it

Seems like some premature failure on an important area of the product?

na i dont even own one - i just have the mk1 actually and the new software

There seems to be a few people who have had this skipping encoder values issue ,it don't seem to effect everything but whilst using it in some modes the values skip ,
N.i have replaced all the units so can't complain

Being a previous MPC 2000 and 4000 user I really wanted and want to love the Ren/Studio--I have both. However, I find myself trusting my Maschine Studio as my tool. After two hours use, even 1.7 has already proven to have more issues than I am used to having with the Maschine software.

I am still holding on to the Ren/Studio, but they are collecting more-and-more dust by the day--unfortunately.

Some Maschine mkI and mkII users had the same problem.
That and the faulty USB connector were 2 of the big issues.
At least in your case they are taking care of it.

No more than 6 bills, there's one on local c.l for 650 that I'm hoping to get for 6...I've seen them on ebay in low- mid 500s range last I checked which was few weeks ago

I love my Ren. 1.7 is very dope.

It's cool.
Only a few minor tweaks that are major for me (reverse loop, independent pad copy, ability to switch an insert effect on/off) and it's all I need.

It's definitely good enough for me to recommend it now.
Truth be told, when I got it and it was in its first version, some music-making friends asked me if I'd recommend it and I had to say, "no".

The coupons I'm referring to are the ones they mail out or email out.
They send them out all the time and the largest one will take $150 off.

The Ren is easily a $899 product so that puts you around $749 for a new unit.

Just gotta watch out for scandalous sales reps who lie about pricing.
