This is probably one retailer that has run out of stock and either not reordered yet or decided to stop stocking it. I know from working in a music shop in Aus that the margins aren't great on Akai gear, probably the same in the US.

Pete Goodliffe the head developer has said 1.8 update is being worked on, and in the same tweet said that 1.9 "and beyond" will continue to roll out. That points towards a new Ren model somewhere on the horizon with a backwards compatible 2.0 update (probably a paid update, thats how NI did it wth maschine).

So maybe sweetwater have decided not to restock on Rens after selling out of their units, figuring that any profit made from sales of Ren between now and the Ren II isn't worth the warehouse space they would take up, plus there will be a risk of having useless Ren stock somewhere after the Ren II does come out, which will probably sell below the cost price (seriously, the margins on the Ren are not good).
