While im a newb to the MPC, im not a noob to tech work. Thing is, in this case you've given us little to go off of. What kind of system do you have and what are the specs?

I downloaded the 1.8 update, followed the instruction ,installed it and the software is still showing 1.7,and my plugin are now crashing but no new features.
Mac 10.9.5
