The crackling and pops are still happening. I reload the newest OSX driver and change buffers, this sh.t blows. I have a brand new MBPRO and I've explored the world about this problem and no fix. Akai phone reps are no help. My Ren works fine on my Oooolllllddddd windows laptop, I want to use my new MBPRO full time because it's new.

Here too, crackling sounds still there sometimes, also when i turn wifi off. The only thing that works for me is to switch the REN off and on again.
I have an older MBP (early 2009) with 8GB ram and OS X 10.9.5.
Let´s hope a new firmware-update will fix that problem anytime.

I had the same problem and it drove me up the wall. But I found that the crackling only occurred if I used the MPC as the output. So, I switched it to my MBP ( so the sound was coming from the lap) and the crackling completely went away. Hopefully that works for you guys too.

Are you using your onboard-sound from the MBP then?

I guess. In the MPC software, I just went to preferences and chose "built-in output" instead of the Ren. It's not ideal but all the feedback went away.
