Track Mix - Volumes Levels Problem???

Hey,

I'm curious if anyone else is having trouble controlling volumes of tracks from the TRK MIX page. I am finding that my levels will not stay and often resort back to the Program Volume. Also when using the same program on multiple tracks their volume levels do not seem to be independent of each other. So if I have strings on track 1 & 2 I cannot set their volumes levels separately. As soon as I change one level both tracks are changed. Not the desired use of track volumes.

Am I missing something? I saw a few posts about saving volume levels and people getting PROG MIX and TRK MIX confused. Curious if it could be a bug.

Program mix is more global which affects any sound in that program across all tracks.

Track mix is only for that specific track.

So say you have the same snare playing on two different tracks. If you turn one down the other one will still play at normal level. But if you go into program edit and make adjustments then that will affect both tracks the snare is on.

No, no, my bad. I did not explain this properly. Just to be clear, I do understand the difference between the PROG MIX & TRK MIX and their uses. In fact they seemed to have been working fine when I first started using the Studio. In the last day or two I have noticed this issue:

To use your example... If I have the same snare on track 1 & 2 and I turn down the level on track 1, the level on track to also comes down with it. (as if I was changing the level on the prog)

The fader does not visually move and the numbers do not change on my studio screen. It is just audio, as if the tracks were linked or changing the program level which is not the way TRK MIX should work.

I think I get what you are saying now. If you are using the same sound on different tracks you may have to copy that sound to a different pad if you want independent volume control.

Its possible. I'll try that and see but it kinda defeats the purpose of trk mix if we have to go through such effort.

Also finding the the mutes work as they should. Seems more less with plugins I am noticing...

The reason is that you have to make a new drum program for every track, and if you doesnt do that, you cant change the gain or volume individually. i think...

Yes thus is solved. Only works with drum tracks which are unique per track.
