Hi.

Following an HDD crash, i had to re install ( with cd installation ) the akai software ( and the driver ).

But since, i can't update to 1.8, and i'm stuck to 1.2 ( which is really annoying ).
I've downloaded the zip, i launched the update mpc 1.8.2 file then i've clicked on "Needs update", the installation began...
Then, i try to open the MPC software, and it's still a 1.2... ( and also, the MPC soft logo is not here anymore, i've fot the apple "what is this app" logo ).
And, i can't have the vst version in ableton live despite the vst files are apparently in the right folder, with all my others vst.

If someone can help me on this, i would be really grateful.

Z.

I ran into problems as I tried to reinstall from CD, too; for me it worked that way:
First Install the driver from the latest update files. don't install your software from cd but from the update files, too. Next, install the content & expansions from the CDs. And last, run the Update-files for each expansion.
I had problems with my vst when it was not installed in the system-partition (C: for Windows) It needs to be located in the system-partition to be activatable and to work properly.

Just my experiences; don't know if it helps you

Evening all,

I've just got the studio and I want to start a new install with the latest 1.8 software without going through using the 1.2 off the supplied disk. So the question is can I install the driver off the disk, then the latest version 1.8 off the website and finally the content from the disk ? Also the 809 and other plugin after the content. Will this way work ?

I didn't notice any new drivers on the akai website will this update once installed if needed >

First post so go easy on me !
Thanks

you just can install the software from any updater-package on the akai website ... the driver is in there, too: if you run the update .exe for instance there will appear a menu from which you can install the driver and the software... for the content you will have to use the cds i think. when all is installed you should run the seperate expansion update files for each expansion from inside the zip file. that's it.

I got it to work. For anyone else with the same issue what I did was install the new 1.8 then go into the installation disc and find the sub folder with install content exe file.

Having installed the expansions that came with it, it seems they are 32 bit, and I need to update them to 64 bit. This version on 1.8 didn't come with any expansion updates, does anyone know which version I need to go to for the expansion update ?

Thanks
