PERIOD!! That's why I go hard for MPC hardware/software features (standalone) I don't want to use anything else if I don't have to, but we're not there yet. Soon come! The first MPC was released in 1988. It's 2015! The day we get the update with audio tracks will be the "MPC Independence Day" The foundation already exist. Great sampler, Great sequencer, and the ability to utilize plugins. Audio tracks with editing features is the final frontier. Free at last! free at last! You know the rest lol. If you truly love the MPC workflow, The ultimate would be having the ability to complete your song within the MPC.

Long live the MPC/Software (standalone)
The legend will continue I hope.

Audio tracks would make it completely standalone. You can still use your daw of choice and the mpc in plugin mode, but for the people who don't want to we could complete a song without another daw.

Agree … love the workflow.
Recently sold my Maschine Studio...never really fell in love with it (pattern-basedness and 16 pad limit being some of the main reasons)...maybe cuz I've always been an Akai man.

Ren is quite alright now, but some features are needed.

Still lusting for a 2500 + JJOSXL, though...one of the few devices I regret selling (4K was great, too).

Is this going to be yet another audio track thread?

I'm out.

Every time there is an audio track thread, I ask what the hell do people mean by audio tracks, and out of the 15 threads that are out there no one has explained yet.

Imakemadbeats dropped this about audio tracks

Think of it the same way you'd think of using midi instruments in Pro Tools, and eventually printing them out as audio/wavs in Pro Tools. You can manipulate wavs differently and in my opinion better than you can manipulate midi.
Like if I have a 16 bar sequence, and I wanna play my Korg SV1 Rhodes into it starting at bar 2, If I do direct record, its really a sample and a midi note place to trigger the sample. Now If I go to bar 3 and start playing from there, I won't hear that Rhodes until the sequence loops and hits bar 2 again.
If it triggered the sample and once I get to bar 8 I hit the << button to hear that bar again... sample is off... gotta wait to loop back to bar two to retrigger it.
Especially with pianos.... if I chop up the sample just so I can place the new trigger throughout the sequence, I gotta deal with the pops and clicks and be extremely precise. Pianos are really sensitive in that regard.
There's more, but these are some examples.

Direct Record is def a come up from no option at all for that kinda thing... or sampling and having to place it yourself... but Audio Tracks would be the most ideal.... where you can edit the audio right there in the sequence. Like Pro Tools, or even FL.
