Yes but i can only hear what i just recorded when my studio monitors are directly connected to the fa06.

The fa06 is capable of tranfering midi and audio via usb. So i was under the impression that if i connected the studio monitors directly to the ren i should hear the audio from the recorded midi track.

I have the Ren and an FA-06 as well. I have an Octacapture as my audio interface. All of my hardware's main audio outs are going into the Octacapture and my cpu uses the Octacapture for audio output playback as well. I have the FA-06 receiving midi notes from the Ren. With everything going into the Octacapture, I hear everything play back fine. Have you tried a midi cable instead of USB? I think what you are saying is you are basically using the digi003 as your Octacapture. If both the Ren and FA-06s' main outs are directly routed to your audio interface, they should both play back fine. From what I understand, you have the FA-06 going into the Ren and using it for playback? Maybe if you turn the Monitor setting on in the sample rec screen on the Ren you will hear the audio playback? I don't know.

I used to use the focusrite audio interface before I got the Octacapture. After I set up the Octacapture, I don't hear any playback from any instrument routed to the Focusrite. This may be a computer thing where you have to select the correct outputs and such. I don't know if this post is helpful but hopefully it can give you a few new ideas to try.

NOW, I have a question for you.

I set up an instrument on my FA-06 to play in an arpeggio fashion, however when I trigger it with my Ren, I only get one note. Is there a setting that needs to be changed on the FA-06? Or is it just not possible?

Thanks.

Thanks for suggestions, I will test out the arrpeggios tonite and let you know my results.

On your fa06 are you using usb audio and midi or just the generic midi option.

While your statements and assumptions are correct, the problem is that the mpc software can only use one usb audio device at a time(but can use multi midi usb devices) for audio output. So if you are using the ren as a audio output device, the fa06 will no longer use its audio outs to pass audio from the software. Your issue is the assumption that the fa06 when connected via usb will transfer the output audio back down the fa06 usb cable, through the computer and then back out the mpc ren usb cable to pass the audio through it output connections.

You need to either connect the audio outputs of the fa06 to the audio inputs of the mpc ren, or in prefs change the audio driver input and ouput to the fa06.

Just generic MIDI
