Bug reports & end-user support for Akai's MPC Software 'controllers' including the new MPC Studio 2, the MPC Touch, MPC Renaissance & original MPC Studio and MPC StudioB lack.

Hey all,

Has anyone had problems installing this expansion / content that comes with the Touch. I had a hell of a time downloading it. Finally after a day the server let me have it without error. I try to install the software and I get a setup failed error each time. Seems to be complaining about the installation of Hybrid. I have removed the MPC Software and reinstalled 1.9.1 and still no luck.

Wondering if it is just me or if someone else has had this problem before I reformat my entire hard disk to reinstall OS and MPC apps. I do have the MPC Renaissance driver installed on the same machine but this should not matter or an I wrong.

Also, does anyone know what exactly is included with the package and if it worth loosing sleep over...

You're supposed to get:

HYBRID 3.
LOOM.
VACUUM PRO.
VELVET.
XPAND.2.
MiniGrand.
DB33.
theRiser

...and yeah. Don't sleep until you've secured them all.

The Air content is awesome, you want it!

You should not need to re-format your hard drive to install some VSTi's

I had issues with the (very hated) Pace crap, I contacted Akai, and they helped sort it out.

Also, there is a way to install them one at a time, that worked better for me. It's been a month, and I don't remember how I did it, I think you can go into the downloaded folder and install each one.... Worth a try.

I had the same problem, I bought a new hard drive and installed Windows 7 on it, I then installed the MPC software and tried to install the Air plugins but I would get an error message and it would fail to install. I bought the new hard drive because I wanted something that I could have just my DAW, the MPC software, and my plugins with nothing else on there. I had purchased a removable hard drive bay so that I could easily swap/replace my hard drive depending on if I was only doing music or if I planned to do something different. Basically I wanted a music hard drive OS with no distracting programs, games, or the internet on it. I digressed.
I don't know which operating system you're using but in my case I'm thinking the Air plugin installation is looking for a file or something that is missing when I did a fresh install of Windows 7, I'm thinking that when windows does the normal windows updates that it installs something the Air installation needs, I could be wrong but that's the only thing that I can think of. I had to go back to my old Windows 7 hard drive that I had and install everything there.

Did you log into your Akai account and get the activation code? You should be able to use that code to activate the VSTs to be used on your computer or ILOK. When I activated one plugin, it activated all the other ones included. And yes the AIR instruments are pretty decent. Besides, you paid a hefty price for the MPC Touch so you best take advantage of all the VSTs included.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for all the great replies. I was out if town for New Years and could not reply. Happy 2016 to my fellow MPC Users btw.

So I have resolved after trying a few things. What worked was downloading a new copy of the file. The main setup file seems to be the problem as I fails each time on my system (Win8). I was able to install each component separately from a folder called subinstallers. After installing each one I them used my DAW to scan them as my MPC software kept ignoring them. After, scanning and activating them in my DAW I rescanned all plugins from MPC software and all plugs were recognized.

I love most things MPC but Akai has pissed me off with various software / expansions / plugs install issues on my Ren, Studio & now Touch. Maybe my OS buy I have s vanilla OS and only a few music related apps and plugs. No issues with any other hardware or software. MPC software still crashes upon exiting each time so I'll inevitably have to do a fresh reinstall soon. For now just banging the new Touch pads is making me smile. Nice new workflow.

Thanks again.

Glad it worked, as I said I had to do the same thing. It seems at least for some systems the auto installer does not work.

Yes, well you would think the install process would be worked out by the time it hits us. I should probably report it and send the log files in case someone at Akai wants to take a look. The VSTi's seem pretty good in so I glad I got them installed.

Thanks,
