Mpc studio fl studio and reason

Ok so I recently got my Mpc studio synced to my computer and from what I understand is that it can be the master midi to control Fl studio? And is it the same with reason as well? I'd definitely rather have the Mpc as main sequencer and master rather than anything else any suggestions

fl studio allows for the daw to be launched as a vst plug in... you can always open it as a vst within the mpc software.

The thing you have to do is decide if fl studio has anything you NEED to have in that song that the mpc software doesn't do... or else why bother doing it unless it's to be fancy for no reason.

Yea I been trying to figure this hung out. I really only want to use the Mpc... What do u suggest possibly Vst plugins for the Mpc. I'm looking for more sounds

if you want to only use the mpc.. only use the mpc. don't use FL studio or reason.

For me personally, I would download loads of old music from places online or maybe plug in a record player and go through old vinyl or maybe even you could get some old CDs to check if there might be cool samples to cut out and flip in the mpc.

otherwise... google free VST instruments and download some synth plug ins and stuff that you can install and use in the mpc software... or maybe you could look into buying a copy of native instruments komplete which comes with many synths and instruments that can be used in the software as well.



or perhaps you can make some simple things in the mpc software and bring that into fl studio to add more things to it and maybe mix your songs... because fl studio has way more features than the mpc software.

Awesome. Thanx for the help. If there's any other plug ins you recommend I'd appreciate it. I want the setup to be as simple as possible but power as well with out having to use multiple programs if possible... I have pleanty of drums and I can def sample from whatever I just wante a full line of pretty goods horns synths pianos organs bells wood instruments ect

I have Komplete installed on my pc for use in my daw; no issues there, but I did have an issue when I tried on of the NI VSTs in my Akai Studio- it went into demo mode, as "new hardware detected" giving me the option to repurchase it ( are you f-ing kidding me ? ); so I had to go back into the service center, delete the red activation key and reactivate it in service center. Just want to voice a bit of caution regarding that route. FYI NI Komplete is on 50% off sale for the next day or two left in this month with some hardware purchase if you can swing it.

yeah.. by the sound of what you're saying, komplete has kontakt which is a sample player that plays instrument patches... that comes with horns (actually all sorts of orchestral instruments and several per instrument type) as well as pianos and other things... plus you can make your own instrument patches.

you know what? on the native instruments website you should be able to get the kontakt player for free... at least that used to be the case... you can't make your own sound patches with that though.. but you can load and play already made ones which is what you want to do anyway.

I appreciate y'alls help. I'm def gonna look into that. I just want a simple but powerful set up I sold all my hardware like a dumbass so no I'm just gonna see how these programs and vsts work out... Have anyone of you tried the vst sets from studio link? I was gonna purchase some from there too. Any info on that?

I have Komplete 9 and its a good bundle to have. Using the MPC to sequence Komplete is kind of redundant if your mainstay is hiphop production. It just takes more effort than it is worth when you could use an actual DAW to sequence everything in the box. I may get some haters for saying this but I personally do not see the benefits of using VST's and having a stand alone sequencer handle all the sequencing.

I can def value that aspect.... I just didn't want to go full throttle without an MPC. Lol I do have reason ableton and fl as well as the Mpc studio just wanted to make a good choice in what to use. Maybe I'll just play around with it all and find my happy medium hah

@Dope806 moving to a hardware sequencer is a totally different workflow too

If you plan on midi'ing up your MPC to your workstation, you may need to take into account midi latency, how you plan to go about recording and mixing your beats, you will have a learning curve. What may make things easier for you is to create portions or loops of stuff you want, on your DAW, and either output it to wav or record it in to the MPC through the analog in. So you're using Kontakt like a sample source instead of an actual instrument.

I'm actually using the Mpc studio with software that's why I'm thinking vst
