Used Ren or studio black?

So the touch , would not work for me, monitor issues on laptop....

So given the option would you get a Ren or studio black edition?

Which unit is easier to do functions like ( copy bars, the new 1.9.3 features, and other things that have been added last year)?

Also, is it possible to delete a program and its samples from the hardware yet?

I'm worried the Ren might not get 2.0 support

Yea, wouldn't work with a second monitor connected to my mbp , very strange I tried everything

Def worth trying to get it up and running. Your skipping out on some workflow stuff and effects.

Maybe you should call Akai support?

Personally though I would rather have a studio for its size. I think they have different pads if that matters much to you.

I agree that the touch is where it's at workflow wise. It was a bit tricky to get going, mine did the same thing at first but I didn't give up. After I made sure I wasn't mirroring a display, it still didn't work. Turns out the problem was my TV which was connected via HDMI but I had it disabled in Windows. Apparently the touch driver sees a disabled display the same way it sees a mirrored display. I disconnected HDMI from the TV and the GUI for the MPC software popped up on the touch screen.
Previously I had the silver studio, but did not dig the workflow or the q-links, was gonna buy a used Ren as well but then they announced the touch. I suspect 2.0 software will work on the REN and the original studio, if Akai is taking a page out of NI's playbook, I'm sure they'll charge for it.
If you still come down to the Ren or the Studio Black, the Black has the new fatter pads and is very portable. The Ren will most likely still provide a better workflow with all 16 Q-links right there, rather than cycling through groups of 4, and it has other dedicated buttons. The Ren also has the best I/O connectivity of all three if you need that. I'd still recommend trying to get that Touch to work though.

Are you able to use the hdmi tv again after setup?
I can't function without a second monitor for my MacBook Pro.

I have 5 monitors hooked up to one pc
and the Touch works great...

masada2502 try hooking up a HD TV via HDMI and let us know if there's a problem with the Touch. I don't have the Touch.
