I received a newsletter from Akai yesterday in which they announced some bluetooth MIDI controllers.

No word about 2.0 or a new MPC in that newsletter...

I guess if there was some major product to be announced they would have done so by now??

why dont u reply to the newsletter and tell dont send me nothing unless its regarding 2.0 release date.

...and that's why they do this.

It´s because these laughable clowns at Nukai don´t even have faith in their own products.

A lot of people absolutely hate them, and rightly so!

It could be an updated version of the MPC Live; but they are camouflaging the name

Different product code, the Live is ACV8, this is ACV5.

Not if the rumors are true...meaning, If the Hybrid model, "LIVE" is priced around $899 and the completely standalone "MPCX" is priced around $2k, then I think Akai will be targeting 2 different customer groups

Like the MPC2500 killed the MPC1000? Two different markets, different features etc. It looks like the X has a larger, possibly tilting screen, I'd imagine they'll probably put in more memory and storage, maybe more audio options, exclusive software features etc. Probably a few hundred $$$ more.

I'm thinking bigger screen and more outputs. Larger hard drive. Also a few more dedicated knobs and buttons

A lot of people who own the Arturia V5 collection are angry over the lack of support they are getting with the Advance Keyboard.

I believe $2K is way too much to spend for a stand alone unit in todays time. I would pay $1.2K max for 'model X'. (I've decided to call it that way).
