Using the MPC Studio as a controller and sound source

I am trying to figure out the workflow for using an MPC Studio as a controller with the MPC as a VSTi in Cubase. I'm not wanting (at the moment) to program inside of the MPC software.

I know how to load a Program or the 809 for instance. I know that if I switch to MIDI control mode, I can use the MPC as a MIDI controller but the mapping in MIDI control mode doesn't match the mapping in main mode...

Is there a way to send Pad MIDI out from main mode? Or is there a better way?
