Renaissance Vs. Maschine

Someone had to post this. Thought I'd get in fast.

We don't know the full specs of the Renaissance as the moment so I will save the spec comparisons for the full release.

In the meantime feel free to discuss amongst yourselves :p

Yeah i can't wait to hear the comparisons. I think the biggest deal that you gonna get with the renaissance is Time-stretch because AKAI has been doing this for years!!

NI has no choice now to step their game up and release an update real soon, else they might lose lots of customers if you ask me.

Yeah that's true.

NI will be on the case now. We can probably expect some updates with some new features shortly. I don't think NI have much to fear though, they know their market, have a great reputation, and amazing customer support.

But i don't know.. I've been using Maschine for a minute now and i love it, but i still feel Maschine still lacks a lot of necessary features that MPC's have, but who knows...maybe time will surprise us

At the very least, MPC-Res introduces competition into the sector, which is only going to be a good thing. NI will have to up the game to 'out-feature' the MPC-Res, Akai will have to retaliate, plus Akai will have to try to match NI's good support and more rapid product development.

It should also fair favourably with regard to pricing. I think Akai will struggle to pitch their Res in a different price bracket to Maschine, and hopefully NI will simply turn around and drop the price, as currently it seems Maschine is pretty much fixed in price across the board (in the UK, £489 pretty much everywhere).

If the $999 rumours are true, I think that's too expensive. In the UK, after VAT that's £750. Ouch.

$1000 in Japan is about 75,000 yen. Used MPCs sell for that much......

The renaissance is a different product than the Maschine. Not only does the build quality look far superior it also has a sound-card with 4 outputs and inputs for sampling. The Maschine is a Toy!!

This is what we've all been waiting for!! Integration with our DAW. People only purchased the Maschine cause nothing else was available to offer the integration we all wanted. Producers are all wanting speed/Gig's of Library/VST-AU Support etc and the MPC2500 Etc didn't offer those facilities to the end user...hence why many people jumped on Maschine purely as a substitute.

This is what i'm waiting for!!!!!!! Bring it on!!

I will take this over maschine anyday! my beloved MPC with the ability to integrate with my computer and read VST's are you kidding! plus I can still sample and have those pads and see my sequence.Thank you AKAI welcome to the 21 century hopefully the price is compatible with maschine(though I doubt it), I'm getting one.also lets hope the OS is stable and they upgrade it continually.

A MPD cost what $300. This is a better controller with a sound card..that's $500-$600 right there. A good DAW cost about 300-$500. So somewhere around $1000 is about right.

If the sound card has high end converters...1000 dollars would be a bargain.

also a stop button may finally be implemented into the maschine!

im excited for this to potentially make NI step thier shortcomings of the maschine up, but i honestly think this will be way ahead of the maschine right out of the box, the inclusion of the stop button almost says that already but thats just my personal opinion.

i dont really wana get into details until they release a video of how it works, but if it works anything like an mpc, i know i will be perfectly happy with this unit.

I am pretty sure NI didn't forget about the stop button. The play button also functions as a stop button. At least on mine it does.

I just can't get my funk on without a dedicated STOP button!
