Yup it will soon be at hand in a few months. And all the speculation chatter can change for the better to production techniques along with daw mixing and arranging.

You guys make it seem like this thing is going to be a perfect machine with all the features they say they will have. Remember it is still nowhere near done and is still a prototype. I want this thing to be great but I still have the be a realist about it as well. Here's hoping that the mpc ren/studio will not be a flop at release time like ie. the mpc 5000

If maschine can work, along with spark and others the Ren can too. More going on that not mentioned for obvious reasons. Ren isn't going to kill the hardware mpc. Just pick up a used hardware model if need be. Ren will be a good ADDITION to any software based studio. If one wants only a hardware studio just stick with what you have. People still work with 20 plus year old gear.

Too many people seems to be afraid of change. It is a win win for those that want to buy it. Hardware head don't buy it simple.

Jahrome, I didn't actually mean anything specific. I just say this because if I remember correctly, the mpc 5000 shipped with advertised features not working, right? I may be wrong, and I am sure you can tell me since you have/had one. Also with the mpc 4000 it shipped without 16 levels implemented correctly and it had its own dedicated button so I don't know how they screwed that one up , LOL.

Don't get me wrong though here, I love mpc's esp. the 1000 and the 4000 and the 5000 looks like it is an awesome machine as well, I would love to have one if I had extra cash to buy one I probably would because it seems to take all the awesome features from every mpc ever made and more(except for 24 bit and 512 RAM, the RAM isn't that big of a deal though because the only time that would be a problem is with multi-sample libraries and a computer is always best for that we all know that.)

There are two things I noticed in the MPC Renaissanse/MPC Studio NAMM Soundandgear.com(Saint Joe) videos that really seem iffy to me at best. These issues are number one a lot of the features the guy did them from the pc and some times knobs moved on the controller did not reflect on the computer. Obviously I know when it is shipped it should be completely controllable for most stuff from the controller but with only a few months from release and they don't have that down yet that scares me. And the other thing that caught my attention is he said he did not have any vst's loaded on his computer. They obviously would have had vst's on there loaded if they were working properly. So once again, at this point in the timeline of the product something like that should be working properly.

Really though, I am hoping I am wrong here and it ships with all the features promised correctly implemented because this thing WILL be the best hybrid controller on the market hands down. Even though I have a Maschine and love it with some things basic enough like proper pad layering and linear based recording and TIME STRETCH and other silly little things that should have been implemented since day 1 it just cannot compete with the MPC Studio let alone a MPC Renaissanse. I am thing though that Native Instruments will respond, once the new Mpc's are released, with at least a software update if not a hardware update with these issues that hold it back as a standalone product, which most people want to use it as. I know a lot of people will say hey you can just use a timestretch vst, but usually a proper vst with a good timestretch algorithm is not cheap and it isn't the same as being able to do it right in the program. I mean with Kontakt I need to go in to kontakt search for the sample, load it up and timestretch it, the go back in maschine and record the output from Kontakt. Really though I do not understand why they just don't release a update with the Kontakt timestretch algorithm in there.

Ok.....I am just going on and on here, sorry about all of that, LOL.

In the end if anyone can make music with an mpc, maschine, or just a daw, then we will be able to make music with Ren and the Studio. Every tool has different usage.
